New Trains Proposed in The Rail Budget 2011



The Indian Railways will launch 56 new trains in 2011-12, Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee said while presenting the Railway Budget on Friday. Nine new Duronto trains will also be introduced. In a bid to promote rail tourism, special tourist trains have also been introduced. The frequency of 17 trains will be increased.

The list of 56 New proposed trains:    
  1. Raebareli-Jaunpur Express (daily)
  2. Tirupati-Amravati Express (bi-weekly) via Akola, Nizamabad, Gooty, Dharmavaram
  3. Asansol-Gorakhpur Express (weekly) via Chhapra, Siwan
  4. Nagpur-Kolhapur Express (bi-weekly) via Kurduwadi, Lathur road, Purna, Akola
  5. Malda Town-Digha Express (weekly) via Rampurhat
  6. Pune-Nanded Express (weekly) via Latur
  7. Visakhapatnam-Koraput Intercity Express (5 days a week) via Vizianagram
  8. Howrah-Secunderabad Express (weekly) via Kharagpur
  9. Mumbai-Chandigarh Express (weekly) via Phulera-Ringus-Gurgaon-Kurukshetra
  10. Bardhaman-Rampurhat Express (tri-weekly)
  11. Bikaner-Delhi Superfast Intercity (daily) via Ratangarh
  12. Hyderabad-Darbhanga Express (weekly) via Muri-Jharsuguda-Nagpur

The nine new Duronto trains are:


    * Allahabad-Mumbai AC Duronto (bi-weekly)

    * Pune-Ahmedabad AC Duronto (tri-weekly)

    * Sealdah-Puri non AC Duronto (tri-weekly)

    * Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam AC Duronto (tri-weekly)

    * Madurai-Chennai AC Duronto (bi-weekly)

    * Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram AC Duronto (bi-weekly)

    * Mumbai Central-New Delhi AC Duronto (bi-weekly)

    * Nizamuddin-Ajmer non-AC Duronto (bi-weekly)

    * Shalimar-Patna Duronto (tri-weekly)
The frequency of following Duronto Trains have been increased:

    
    * Mumbai CST-Howrah Duronto Express from 2 days to 4 days

    * Mumbai-Ahmedabad Duronto Express from 3 days to daily

    * Sealdah-New Delhi Duronto Express from 2 days to 5 day

    * Nagpur-Mumbai CST Duronto Express from 3 days to daily

    * Howrah-Yesvantpur Duronto Express from 4 days to 5 days



Three new Shatabdi trains and two double decker AC trains will be introduced. These proposed new Shatabdis are: Pune-Secunderabad, Jaipur-Agra and Ludhiana-Delhi. Two double decker AC services will be introduced on Jaipur-Delhi and Ahmedabad-Mumbai routes.

Special tourist trains 
 
Four special tourist trains 'Janam Bhoomi Gaurav' will be launched to take forward the efforts of promoting rail tourism. Minister of Railways Mamata Banerjee said that these special trains will connect important historical and educational places in various parts of the country.

Special trains

Rajya Rani Express will connect state capitals with important cities of those states. Kavi Guru Express & Vivek Express Trains to be Launched to Mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore & Swami Vivekananda.
These proposed Janam Bhoomi Gaurav trains will run on the following routes:
  • Howrah-Bolpur-Rajgir (Nalanda)-Pataliputra (Patna)-Varanasi (Sarnath)-Gaya-Howrah
  • Bangalore-Mysore-Hassan (Space Facility, Belur, Halebid, Shravanbengola)-Hubli-Gadag(Hampi)-Bijapur (Gole Gumbaz)-Bangalore
  • Chennai-Puduchcheri-Tiruchichirappali-Madurai-Kanniyakumari-Thiruvananthpuram-Ernakulam-Chennai 
  • Mumbai-Ahmedabad-(Lothal)-Bhavnagar (Palitana)-(Alang)-Gir-Diu (Somnath-Veraval)-(Junagarh)-Rajkot-Mumbai.
